TORTOLA—British Virgin Islands quarter miler Dominique Maloney won the 400 meters during Saturday’s 3^rd annual Carolina Spring Break Classic in Puerto Rico, then copped a third place finish in the 200 meters with another personal best effort.

Maloney chopped her 400 meter career best from last month’s 57.65 seconds to 55.98 for the second fastest time this year behind Samantha John’s 55.96 at the Carifta Games in St. Kitts.

Maloney followed up by slicing her 200 meter best of 25.33 to 24.71, the second fastest by a BVI athlete this season and only the fifth to break 25 seconds.
