Finishers Hold Off Outkast, 83-80

TORTOLA
—The Finishers beat Outkast, 83-80, in a very close BVI Basketball Federation game at the Multipurpose Sports Complex in Road Town on Saturday night.

Outkast outscored the Finishers 29-20 in the third quarter, to pull within, 63-62, after trailing 43-33 at halftime. Nichols Charles scored 12 of his game high 25 points in the second quarter to lead the Finishers.

Gerald Vanterpool and Alton “Sugar” Vanterpool followed up with 18 and 17 points each. Roger Frank had Outkast’s top score with 22 points and 13 rebounds. Greg Massicote poured in 18. Kirk Adams added a 16 points 11 rebound double double, to go with four assists. Natalio Wheatley contributed another 11 points and eight rebounds to the tally.

And One overcame a 13-point 20-7 first quarter deficit, with a 27-14 second quarter run, en route to beating Another Level, 77-64. And One put the game away by burying Another Level, 26-11 in the fourth quarter.

Shamori Morgan led all scores with a 31 point 15 rebound effort. He also had six steals. Ryan Mills had an all round game and poured in 17 points, pulled 13 boards dished out seven assists and grabbed six steals. Dwquan Byron followed up with another double double of 13 points and 14 rebounds.

Kenrick Thomas was Another Level’s leading scorer with 14 points and five steals. Dion Edwin added 11 points and grabbed seven rebounds.
