In the battle between winless men’s teams, 1997 champions Latinos stormed back from a four run deficit to edge the Dodgers, 10-9 , in a Friday night see saw tussle. Trailing 6-0 in the fifth inning, the Dodgers batted around and scored nine runs to take a 9-6 lead, before the Latinos fought back with four in the bottom of the fifth for the 10-9 thriller, that kept the Dodgers winless.
Pablo Rincon—who came on in relief of Dwayne “Barge” Davies—picked up the victory as both combined to scatter three hits. Allen “Tonic” Forbes took the loss in relief of Johnny Bailey. The Latinos 10 runs came off 5 hits, 5 errors and 5 left on base. The Dodgers had their 9 runs on 3 hits, committed 5 errors and left 5 on base. After a 3-0 start, the Reds have lost two of their last three after falling to the Blue Wings, 15-8 on Saturday. The Reds continued their power surge with eight extra base hits and three homers by Zeddy Smith, losing pitcher Dariel Robinson and Johnny Gooding. But, it wasn’t enough, as the Blue Wings countered with four extra bases and got Khoy “Mailman” Frett to deliver a 3-run homer—his only hit in four trips to the plate to help their cause. He had four runs batted in and scored twice. Raymond “Mahasa” Mercer was 2-for-3, scored twice with 2 RBIs.
Smith and Gooding each went 2-for-3 for the Reds with two runs scored and drove and two and one run respectively.
